The morning starts in Copacabana. María walks the calçadão in the Ripple Effect fringed oversized shirt and matching pants, printed with shoreline scenes, swimmers and parasols in ocean blues and deep greens. Across the back of the shirt, embroidered in red: wish you were here.

Rio feels busy without feeling rushed. People heading to the beach, buses passing, music coming from somewhere nearby.

She takes the bus to Urca in Havaianas, fringe hems dragging slightly on the bus floor. Stops along the waterfront for a while before heading towards Ipanema.

Later, she ends up at a beachside quiosque back near the water. Coconut water, fruit stacked behind the bar, footvolley happening somewhere down the beach.

Nothing planned. Just a day in Rio wearing Ripple Effect.
